This great Trinity tradition won't go ahead this year...

Tomorrow was supposed to be the running of the 'Juttoddie' – one of Trinity's oldest and most beloved traditions. While it won't go ahead this year, we will share how it all started.

How this social change agent is influencing politics through research

In times like these, we’re reminded to look at the big picture. That’s what our alum Dr Sabrina Anjara has been doing her whole career.

Inside the Emoji Project: How our students aim to connect us in this time of disconnection

Using their time in isolation inventively, five Trinitarians apply the ‘picture says a thousand words’ concept to develop emojis that could help connect us all.

Keeping the spirit alive: how does college life work in lockdown?

Trinity student Jasper Garner gives us the inside scoop on what’s happening at ÂÒÂ×´óÉñ and how our students are staying connected both on and off campus.

Lest we forget those who serve and have served – even if, like Kate, it’s not in the way you think

To recognise those who are serving in our defence forces, and in honour of those who have done so in the past, we share the story of the Reverend Kate Lord, who took an unconventional career path after graduating from ÂÒÂ×´óÉñ’s Theological School. Her story seems even more fitting given Anzac Day will be a little unconventional this year too.

Was COVID-19 made in a lab? Is a vaccine coming? A world virus expert helps separate fact from fiction

Even in lockdown, ÂÒÂ×´óÉñ students are still enjoying our regular ‘fireside chats’ (although it’s BYO fire at the moment) with leading professionals and academics. Yesterday our students heard from Professor Dave O’Connor, a world-leading virologist from the University of Wisconsin, about all things coronavirus. Here, Trinity biomedicine student Kevin Chen provides a recap.

Amid all the COVID-19 craziness, the sustainability of our planet is still important and shouldn’t be forgotten. We share the story of one of our alumni who’s doing something for the fight … assisted by robots.

An inspiring journey from Alice Springs to Melbourne Law School

While the world is focused on COVID-19, educational challenges still remain, and will continue, for many Australians, particularly those in remote areas. Here we share the journey of former ÂÒÂ×´óÉñ student Marli Mathewson, who is on a mission to improve the Northern Territory’s justice system.

Community, collaboration and lockdown: Q&A with Senior Student Morgan Galea

Each year Trinity appoints a Senior Student to act as a representative of our residential student body. Here, this year's Senior Student, Morgan Galea, gives us a run down on his goals and highlights, and shares what it's like living at Trinity during lockdown.

The show won’t go on … but here’s why our cancelled musical is still worthy of reflection

It's with great regret that we've had to announce the cancellation of Trinity's 2020 musical 'Once on this Island', particularly given the show's storyline means so much to our producer. In this heartfelt piece, he explains why.

Loneliness – what it is and how to deal with it

Given the latest social distancing measures put into place by the government, loneliness – and how to avoid it – is something we need to seriously consider. Below is an adaptation of an article that ran in our 2018 issue of Trinity Today by loneliness expert Dr Michelle Lim.

Why multifaith dialogue is now as important as ever

With the outbreak of COVID-19, the world population is being asked to band together as a global community. During this time, the Dean of the Theological School at Trinity reminds us that in order to function well as a collective society, we need to learn about and respect the religious views of others too.

On Close the Gap Day, we consider our role in bridging Australia’s equality gap

Today is National Close the Gap Day, an important day that encourages us to examine the disparity in health and life expectancy between Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations in Australia.

Do you know what Trinity recycles?

With its power to help conserve natural resources, curb CO2 emissions, and reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfill, recycling plays a crucial role in the fight for a greener and more sustainable world. So Trinity is well and truly in on the action.

How our first female student started a long family tradition

Yesterday, 15 March, would have been Lilian Alexander’s birthday, the first female student at Trinity. Born in 1861, Lilian came to Trinity as a non-residential student in 1883, and little did she know, she would kick off a long family history with the College.
